EBMP has recently released their debut EP titled ‘Ode to Insanity’. Recorded in two mammoth days at Roundhead Studios in Auckland and mixed and mastered by legendary New Zealand audiophile Chris Chetland at Kog Studio, the EP is EBMP’s self-introduction to the kiwi rock scene.
Influenced by hard-hitting acts like System of a Down, Queens of the Stone Age, and Alice in Chains, the independent Hamilton four-piece write, record and perform confronting, intense rock tunes.
The EP ‘Ode to Insanity’ deals with themes of mental health, isolation, addiction, and suicide, drawing heavily from the personal experiences of band members. Mental health problems affect all levels of our society and people are hurting, who want help, who need help, but often the help isn’t there. For EBMP, help came from making music which provided some kind of therapy, but not everyone is able to find the help that they need. The four songs on ‘Ode to Insanity’ are for those people.
